Relocation of Flagship Retail Store.
Project Overview
We recently relocated the Capezio London retail store to a more vibrant and accessible location to better serve our customers. The new space has been thoughtfully redesigned to reflect Capezio’s rich heritage while embracing a modern, dancer-friendly aesthetic. Improved layout and fixtures enhance product visibility and create a more immersive shopping experience. This move marks an exciting step forward in strengthening our brand presence in the UK market.
Scope of Work
Planning & Permitting
- We confirmed that 37 Endell Street was zoned for retail and suitable for a dancewear business.
- A local planning consultant was engaged to assist with permissions, as the building was located in a conservation area.
- We submitted and obtained planning permission, including Change of Use where required.
- Consent for external signage and shopfront alterations was secured.
- All interior works were approved through Building Control to ensure compliance with UK building regulations.
Lease & Legal Agreements
- We successfully negotiated and signed the lease for 37 Endell Street.
- Structural and compliance surveys were completed, including asbestos and accessibility assessments.
- All legal obligations, including fire safety and Equality Act compliance, were reviewed and addressed.
Design & Store Planning
- A retail architect was appointed to develop a new store layout focused on foot traffic, fitting rooms, and product presentation.
- We created a mood board and selected materials that aligned with Capezio’s brand identity.
- The final design plan was approved by the wider Capezio team.
- All branding, fixtures, and finishes were aligned with the global aesthetic.
Shopfitter & Contractor Selection
- We issued a request for proposals to several experienced shopfitters.
- After evaluating costs, timelines, and prior work, we selected our preferred contractor.
- The shopfitting agreement was signed, and timelines were coordinated with the design team.
Fit-Out & Build
- The shopfitter executed the build-out according to the approved plans.
- Regular site inspections and snagging walkthroughs ensured quality and compliance.
- Lighting, flooring, mirrors, displays, and branded elements were installed.
- IT systems, point-of-sale, and security infrastructure were fully set up.
Final Checks & Launch
- All final safety inspections were passed.
- Snagging was completed and the store was fully stocked and merchandised.
- Staff received training on the new layout and systems.
- We hosted a soft opening ahead of the official store launch at 37 Endell Street.
